FC Bayern, alongside the government of the Indian state of Maharashtra, is to host the "Maharashtra Youth Cup 2023", in which over 100,000 young talents from 5,000 schools will take part. The U-14s football tournament will run until 9 March 2023 and will be the largest youth tournament ever organised in Maharashtra. In the final, the 20 best talents scouted by the FC Bayern coaches will have the opportunity to earn a place at training sessions at the FC Bayern Campus.
FC Bayern board member for marketing Andreas Jung: "FC Bayern is committed to the development of youth football all over the world. Using our office in Bangkok, which we opened last year, we want to promote enthusiasm for our sport in the region through activities like this youth tournament, and also convey to people the values for which our club stands."
Head of Southeast Asia Maximilian Haschke: "Being able to host what is the biggest U-14s tournament in India to promote football in this region is a milestone for FC Bayern. Along with the Maharashtra government, we want to generate enthusiasm among the people and continue to implement further projects of this kind in the future."
In Munich, the talents are coached by a team of international youth coaches at FC Bayern Campus. The aim is to offer the young players an intercultural exchange programme in addition to the sporting aspects.
