In which bistro was FC Bayern founded 123 years ago? Who are the three "Michaels" who have made the most Bundesliga appearances for the record champions? And what were the names of the stadia in which Bayern won the European Cup three times in a row from 1974 to 1976? On Monday evening, 48 club members pondered these and other tricky questions at Clubheim *1900 on the FC Bayern Campus. On the occasion of the club's 123rd birthday, the search began for the ultimate FC Bayern expert.
Successful birthday party
"What could be better than our birthday party on 27 February at Ingolstädter Straße 272 with 27 + 21 members?" asked Walter Mennekes as he opened the quiz together with Benny Folkmann, FC Bayern Munich eV managing director. The Second Vice President tested the knowledge of the participants selected from around 300 applicants. Mennekes told how he found his love for FC Bayern in the 1980s. However, he left out some details in his story. The audience had to guess them – as a little warm-up. After that, it got serious.

Fabian Raabe and Martin Kummer came up with the list of questions for the quiz and led the evening. Both are renowned experts on the club's history. While Raabe has been part of the team at the FC Bayern Museum for many years, long-time member Kummer has organised FC Bayern quizzes for fan clubs in the past. The format was played in twelve teams of four, with the candidates having to answer three rounds of seven questions each. These varied in form and subject areas. As well as famous people from the club's history or special events, there were also missing words from Giovanni Trapattoni's legendary "rage speech".
Team "Allianz Arena" gets the win

It's no wonder the participants were happy to travel long distances, including from South Tyrol or Kamp-Lintfort in North Rhine-Westphalia, in order to take part in this special evening. Because even though the "Allianz Arena" team were champions, everyone taking part was a winner.
