Alphonso Davies made his 100th Bundesliga as Bayern beat VfB Stuttgart 2-1 on Saturday evening. The Canadian reached the milestone at the age of just 22, making him the sixth-youngest player to reach a century in the league for Bayern, while he’s the youngest non-German.
“It’s an incredible feeling to be able to play 100 games in the Bundesliga for this great club. It’s really wonderful,” the four-time Canadian Footballer of the Year said ahead of the game. “It really is an honour that I’ve reached this milestone in my career so young. I’m really grateful for that.”
19 direct goal involvements for our No.19
It was a fitting fixture for such a landmark appearance, having made his Bundesliga debut against Stuttgart in a 4-1 win back on 27 January 2019. Our No.19 has so far scored five goals and provided 14 assists in his 100 league outings for the club, lifting the Bundesliga Meisterschale on four occasions as well. A record that can only make us excited for the Canadian speedster’s next 100 games with Bayern.
Davies and his friend Jamal Musiala combined for an interview in club magazine ‘51’ in February:
