A matchwinner in his hometown, top Bundesliga scorer and provider – and now top of the pops in the fan vote: Kingsley Coman is your FC Bayern Player of the Month for February. The Frenchman provided several reasons for voting for him over the past month and he ended up way ahead in the favours of the supporters of the German record champions. Coman received 58% of the votes cast to put him above Jamal Musiala (13 %) and Thomas Müller (8 %) .
Six goal involvements in five games
Since coach Julian Nagelsmann reorganised the defence into a back three at the start of February, Coman has played as a link on the right flank and impressed there with some strong performances. The 26-year-old scored five goals and provided one assist in five matches during the period of the vote. Perhaps his most important goal was on Valentine's Day when he scored the only goal of the game in the first leg away to his former club Paris St Germain and he was afterwards named Man of the Match.
Top contributor in the Bundesliga
Coman started his impressive spell in the Bundesliga a week before. The winger netted a brace in the 4-2 win at Wolfsburg including a wonderful volley at 2-0. With four goals and one assist, Coman was Bayern's top attacking contributor in February and thus extended his impressive run: the determined competitor is unbeaten in 17 Bundesliga matches in the current campaign (W11 D6). So there can be hardly any doubts about the validity of the vote – carry on in the same way, King!
