Mané with a brace against Brazil, Germany lose

The FC Bayern players experienced mixed results with their national teams on Tuesday. With four Bayern players: Germany downed by Colombia

Germany internationals
Long faces: Leon Goretzka, Joshua Kimmich & Co. suffered defeat against the South Americans.

Jamal Musiala, Leon Goretzka and Leroy Sané were in Germany coach Hansi Flick's starting XI for the friendly against Colombia. But neither the Bayern bloc at the start nor Joshua Kimmich coming off the bench after 79 minutes could prevent the 2-0 defeat to Los Cafeteros. Musiala almost put the home side ahead on 45 minutes following a one-two with Kai Havertz, but after the break Liverpool's Luis Diaz (54') and Juventus' Juan Cuadrado (82' / pen) condemned the Germans to their fourth successive match without a win. The next opponents for Flick's side are Japan on 9 September and France on 12 September.

Mané shines against the record World Cup winners

There was a real highlight in store for Senegal in Lisbon: At the Estadio José Alvalade, the team led by Bayern striker Sadio Mané met Brazil in a friendly - and surprisingly ran out 4-2 winners. Lucas Paqueta gave the Seleção the lead on eleven minutes, before Aliou Cissé's team turned up the heat. First Habib Diallo equalised (22'), then Marquinhos scored an own goal (52') to give Senegal the lead after an attack initiated by Mané. Three minutes later, the FCB striker had a go from just inside the left side of the box - and impressively curled the ball into the top corner. After Marquinhos pulled one back for the Brazilians (58'), Mané wrapped things up for the African champions with a penalty in stoppage time (90' +7').

João Cancelo was in the starting XI for Portugal's away win in Iceland and was substituted after 67 minutes.

Full-back João Cancelo played 67 minutes of Portugal's late 1-0 away win in Iceland to secure their fourth success in their fourth European Championship qualifier. Veteran Cristiano Ronaldo, who extended his record with his 200th cap, scored the winner in the 89th minute for the Euro 2016 winners. Roberto Martínez's team impressively lead Group J with a two-point lead over Slovakia - and the defence led by Cancelo has yet to concede a goal.
