Japanese fans welcome FC Bayern to Tokyo

The FC Bayern players were welcomed with tremendous enthusiasm in Tokyo on Tuesday afternoon local time! The German record champions have kicked off this year's Audi Summer Tour in the Japanese metropolis. Following the almost 12-hour flight, numerous fans were at the team hotel to welcome head coach Thomas Tuchel's side.

Matthijs de Ligt & Co. took time out to meet the Japanese fans in Tokyo after the long flight.

Matthijs de Ligt, Minjae Kim and Co. were delighted with the warm welcome in Tokyo's 32-degree heat and were happy to spend some time signing autographs and taking selfies with the supporters. Just a short time after their arrival, the Munich team headed straight to Tokyo's National Stadium for the first training session of the Asia tour. It's here that Bayern will face reigning Champions League winners Manchester City in the Audi Football Summit on Wednesday (12:30 CEST). Numerous fans also cheered on the FCB players during the training session at the National Stadium.

After landing, the squad headed straight for their first open training session in the Japanese capital at 17:15 local time.

"I'm looking forward to the game. City are the best team in Europe at the moment. We'll be able to measure exactly where we stand," said Joshua Kimmich about the clash with the Cityzens. Of course, it's a friendly being played under special conditions, but both teams will want to win. It's always very interesting to play against a team like them."
