Reaction to the match against Augsburg
Thomas Tuchel: "Of course we are happy with the result, you can see that on the players' faces. I'm pleased to see that the players are celebrating. Still, I still see room for improvement. At the beginning of the game, we weren't free enough, so it took an own goal and a penalty to ease things up. Then we played solidly until the final whistle and grew in confidence. In the end, it was a deserved victory, even though we unfortunately conceded another goal. But we should just look at the positive things. It's all about wins."
Leon Goretzka: "We knew it wouldn't be a pretty game of football today. Augsburg play nasty and also a bit unorthodox. The first half was a bit tough, the game got a bit boring, but we were patient and then the goal eventually came."
Harry Kane: "It was a good win in the first home match of the season. We created good chances and could've scored even more. There's still room for improvement in the final third of the pitch for us. Overall, it was a good performance from us. We have great quality in the team. I love the chemistry in the team, we're growing together more and more. It's been a crazy and exciting few weeks for me. It's all positive."
Reaction from the FC Augsburg camp
Enrico Maaßen (head coach, FC Augsburg): "We delivered lots of what we set out to do really well. The first 30 minutes were good, we even had the chance to go ahead 1-0. Then we almost gave away the goals. It's annoying that we went into half-time with a 2-0 deficit despite what was essentially a very good performance. In the end, we didn't have the energy to keep up the high pressing we had in the first half. It's nice that we didn't give up after the 3-0, that's not always that easy."
Niklas Dorsch (midfielder, FC Augsburg): "Of course we are unhappy that we didn't take any points home. It's always very difficult here in Munich, everything has to work together perfectly. Not everything was bad. That said, we conceded three goals. The first two were frustrating. We showed good spirit. Other teams might have given up, but we pulled a goal back. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to make a real difference."
Ermedin Demirović (striker, FC Augsburg): "It was a good performance from us. We gave everything and wanted to be the party crashers. We didn't succeed. We tried to step on the gas. We played well in the first 30 minutes, but then conceded two goals. In Munich you don't always have many chances, but you have to make them count when you do get them."
