Konrad Laimer's effort to make it 2-0 in the DFB Cup first-round match at Preußen Münster (4-0) came right out of the football textbook for headed goals – and that's despite the fact that, by his own admission, the Austrian is no expert in the field.
A 'nice' first goal for Bayern

"It was my first headed goal and a nice one at that," said the versatile midfielder at full time, beaming with joy. As well as being his first headed goal, it was also Laimer's debut goal in a Bayern shirt following his move in the summer. "I'm pleased that I scored my first goal and I hope a few more follow."
Will there be another first for the 26-year-old soon? On Saturday, he and his teammates return to Bundesliga action against RB Leipzig – the club for whom he scored 15 goals in 190 competitive appearances over the past six years. Laimer's first meeting with his former club ended in a 3-0 defeat in the DFL-Supercup around seven weeks ago. Of course, a better outcome is hoped for this time, even though Laimer is well aware of the difficulty of the task against in-form RBL.
After 190 appearances for Leipzig, Laimer now faces his former club again on Saturday around seven weeks on from the DFL-Supercup.
"We want to go there and win. We know what they're capable of but we also know what we're capable of," declared the Austria international. Leipzig have won their last six matches in all competitions, with Bayern almost matching that with six wins and one draw in the same period. "It's certainly going to be a top game. They're in good form, we're in good form. We're looking forward to Saturday!" he added. So too are probably all football fans in Germany.
