The 2023 Ballon d’Or ceremony took place in Paris on Monday evening, with a number of Bayern players among the nominees at the 67th edition of France Football’s prestigious event. Harry Kane, Minjae Kim and Jamal Musiala were on the final shortlist for the best men’s player in the world, Georgia Stanway for the women. Musiala made the podium for the Kopa Trophy, with Kane in the top three for the Gerd Müller Trophy.
Musiala second for U21 players
“Jamal Musiala is a player who’s shaping our present and obviously also belongs to the future. We’re very proud that after third-place finishes in 2021 and 2022 he’s now come second in this year’s Kopa Trophy. He’s getting closer and closer to the top, and we at FC Bayern will continue to accompany him along his way,” said CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen in congratulations to the 20-year-old. Musiala took a fantastic second place in the Kopa Trophy for the best U21 player. It was his last-minute goal that won the Bundesliga for Bayern last season. The winner was former Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, now of Real Madrid.
