The official part of the memorial service for Franz Beckenbauer at the Allianz Arena (free admission passes HERE) on Friday begins at 15:00 CET, but attendees will be allowed into the stadium from as early as 12:00. The prelude begins at 13:45 with brass bands, wreath-laying ceremonies and the Tölz Boys' Choir, among other things. Following the welcoming address from Bayern president Herbert Hainer, Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Bavarian Minister President Markus Söder and the honorary president of FC Bayern and long-time friend of Beckenbauer, Uli Hoeneß, will then give speeches on the life and work of the "Kaiser" from different and personal perspectives.
Star tenor Jonas Kaufmann will provide the musical accompaniment to the service. In addition to the three songs from the Munich-born Bayern fan, the plan is for all guests in the stadium to sing Beckenbauer's song "Gute Freunde".
Free admission passes also available at Allianz Arena
Anyone who decides at the last minute to take part in this special send-off for Franz Beckenbauer can still get free admission passes on the door at the Allianz Arena on Friday. These will be available from 12:00 at the south and north turnstiles. In addition, parking is free for all visitors to the event in car parks P1 and P3. Free admission passes remain available on the FC Bayern website (HERE) up until the start of the service.
Like last week, the Allianz Arena will also be illuminated with the message "Danke Franz" during the memorial service.
