FC Bayern have completed the signing of Swedish youth international Jonah Kusi-Asare. The 16-year-old joins the German record champions from AIK on a long-term contract. Kusi-Asare will live on the FC Bayern Campus and initially gain experience with the U19 team.
Freund: 'Enormous potential'
Christoph Freund, FC Bayern sporting director: "Jonah Kusi-Asare is a young striker with enormous potential. He had several offers but chose FC Bayern because we managed to convince him about how we want to build up and develop him here. He has all the attributes: he's technically strong, fast, tall, very robust for his age and an excellent finisher. We're very pleased that he'll be playing for FC Bayern in the future."
Jochen Sauer, director of youth development: "Jonah made his debut for AIK in Sweden's first division at the age of just 16 and is already very advanced for his age. We believe in his potential and are pleased that he'll take the next steps in his development with us."
Four top-flight appearances
Solna-born Kusi-Asare has made four appearances for the AIK first team in Allsvenskan this season and has been a regular in the squad since his debut in September. The 1.96-metre-tall striker scored a hat-trick on his debut for Sweden's U17 national team in September.
