Which names were on Bayern’s founding document? How did Franz Beckenbauer describe the team's performance after the 3-0 defeat at Lyon in 2001? Which Bayern player scored over 100 goals in both the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2? And who scored Bayern's last goal at the Olympiastadion? These and other tricky questions were posed to 48 members in the *1900 clubhouse at the FC Bayern Campus on Tuesday at a quiz night to mark the club’s 124th anniversary.

Vice-president Professor Dr Dieter Mayer welcomed the participants, who had been selected from around 200 applicants. They then got down to the serious business of the quiz. Fabian Raabe, for many years part of the team at the FC Bayern Museum, and Martin Kummer, who as a long-standing member had already organised FC Bayern quizzes for fan clubs, led the evening. The game was played in 12 teams of four. Over three rounds, the candidates had to answer eight questions each from a wide variety of subject areas. The participants not only put their knowledge of the FCB men’s team to the test, but also of other departments such as basketball, table tennis, bowling and chess.

“Everyone was very enthusiastic. We organise many formats like this in order to be even closer to our members and engage in dialogue. We can feel the great joy in everyone that we can bring the Bayern family to life in this way,” explained Mayer. In the end, the team called ‘Estádio da Luz’ came out on top as the quiz champions. Thanks to the excellent organisation, however, all participants were winners after an extremely entertaining and exciting evening.
