FC Bayern has been supporting youth football in China with various partnerships since 2016, including in Sichuan province. Together with its partner adidas, FC Bayern is currently running a training project in Chengdu, a city with a population of 20 million, specifically focused on the development of young Chinese female players.

During the week, a prominent visitor from Munich dropped by the adidas No.20 Sports Park as Bavarian Minister-President Markus Söder stopped off in Chengdu on his trip to China. He visited the FC Bayern-adidas training camp and also attended a practice match of the U15 youth team from Sichuan Zizhong, which is coached by FC Bayern staff.

The 22 best girls from this camp will be travelling to Germany this summer for another training camp. FC Bayern has already organised several youth training sessions with a total of 100 children at the adidas No. 20 Sports Park.

FC Bayern has built up a large fan base in Sichuan. Youth camps and fan festivals are organised regularly, and FC Bayern organised the 2023 Bayern Munich Football Carnival together with the Chengdu government and the German Consulate-General at the end of last season. Thousands of people came to the FC Bayern showroom in the city centre and celebrated the dramatic final match of the season, in which FC Bayern won the Bundesliga for the 11th time in a row.
