As part of the International Weeks against Racism, FC Bayern once again sent out a clear message for diversity and open-mindedness during their Bundesliga game at home to Mainz on Saturday. The ‘A Voice for Diversity’ project of the club’s ‘Red against Racism’, together with Munich-based organisation ‘buntkicktgut’, saw people with a migrant background who had inspiring stories to tell about their personal lives and the topic of integration, involved in reading out the respective team line-ups.
Both teams also held up a banner with ‘Red against Racism’ before kick-off. Manuel Neuer's captain's armband, Bayern's warm-up shirts and the corner flags also bore the club campaign’s inscription. The German Football League (DFL) wants to raise awareness among fans during the International Weeks against Racism with its ‘Together’ diversity initiative.
