Despite a goal from Bayern striker Harry Kane, England missed the chance to qualify for the EURO 2024 knockout stages early. Kane gave the Three Lions a deserved lead in the 18th minute in Frankfurt, but Morten Hjulmand levelled for the Danes nine minutes before half-time. Both teams had chances to score a winner in the second period, but had to settle for a 1-1 draw.
"We can play better with and without the ball," summarised Kane at full time. "But I think the sign of a good team is when you're not at your best, you still find a way to get results. We're all but qualified for the next round and that's the number one objective."
Kane and Co still on course
England are now on four points and still lead Group C ahead of Denmark and Slovenia, going into the final matchday in a good position. A point from the clash with Slovenia on Tuesday night (21:00 CEST) would be enough for Gareth Southgate's men to confirm their place in the last 16.
