The young defender is happy to accept a shorter summer break. Having been hampered by a niggling muscle injury last season, the 19-year-old wants to be ready for the official start of training on 15 July under new coach Vincent Kompany.
"It's important that I get fit and stay fit," said Buchmann after a "long and intensive" session on Thursday morning. After the first few days on the pitch, he already feels that he's getting sharper. "I'm feeling good and I can keep increasing the volume."
Aim is to stay fit
