After the weather gods had not been kind to FC Bayern during open training the day before, at least it was no longer pouring with rain on the second day of the training camp at Lake Tegernsee. As time went on, the weather improved noticeably. After an intensive circuit training session in the mobile fitness room directly adjacent to the FC Rottach-Egern sports ground, the first part of training was without a ball and instead focused on agility and fitness.
After that, head coach Vincent Kompany worked with the group, which included Leon Goretzka, Serge Gnabry, Aleksandar Pavlović, Minjae Kim and Mathys Tel, on pressing under high intensity with four teams on an enlarged pitch with two goals. There was plenty of tempo in the exercise, with the players pushing each other. After one successful sliding tackle from Eric Dier on Noussair Mazraoui, the Moroccan praised the Englishman: "That's how I know my man!"
The full pitch was in use again for an 11-a-side game, where the coach – former captain of Manchester City for seven years – himself started move after move out of the defence.
