FC Bayern have extended Gabriel Vidović’s contract to 30 June 2026 and agreed that the 20-year-old will spend the coming season on loan at Mainz. The forward has been at Bayern since summer 2016 when he joined the club’s academy from Augsburg.
Christoph Freund (sporting director): “Gabriel Vidović joined Bayern at the age of 12 and has constantly developed at a high level, at first at our FC Bayern Campus and then with his first senior loan moves to Vitesse and Dinamo Zagreb. Gabi has also performed very well for us in pre-season and should now take the next step at Mainz. We’ll continue to follow him very closely.”
The Augsburg native worked his way through all of Bayern’s youth teams after joining in 2016 and progressed to the reserves for the 2021/22 season, for whom he has played 33 games and scored 21 goals. The Croatia U21 international made his senior debut for Bayern in April 2022 and has so far played four times for the first team. Vidović gained further experience in the Netherlands with Vitesse in 2022/23 (25 games, four goals) and at Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia’s top flight last season (40 games, nine goals).
