Michael Olise and the French U23 national team will play for the gold medal at their home Olympics. Les Tricolores won 3-1 after extra time in the semi-final against Egypt on Monday night to progress to the final. FCB's new signing Olise, who played the full 120 minutes, was instrumental in the victory, setting up one goal and scoring the third.

France initially trailed in Lyon through a goal from Egypt's Mahmoud Saber in the 62nd minute, but Jean-Philippe Mateta equalised with seven minutes of normal time left after a perfect through ball from Olise. An early sending-off for Egypt in extra time gave Les Bleus a numerical advantage and they capitalised, Mateta scoring again to put France in front in the 99th minute. The outstanding Olise put the icing on the cake with his strike in the 108th minute to make it 3-1.
Final against Spain
The French meet Spain, who beat Morocco 2-1 in the other semi-final, in the final at the Parc des Princes in Paris on Friday (18:00 CEST).
Olise's new team-mates at FC Bayern are back in Munich following the Audi Summer Tour:
