Recap: What happened on Thursday in Seoul

FC Bayern have arrived in Seoul! After a flight lasting around 11 hours, the German record champions started this year's Audi Summer Tour in the South Korean capital, where they'll continue their pre-season preparations until Monday. After the warm welcome from the local fans, there was already lots going on for the players and management on the first day. fcbayern.com rounds up the events.

Enthusiastic welcome

Servus, Korea! With these words the FCB players introduced themselves to the throngs of fans who waited for them at Seoul airport. After the Munich men disembarked the aircraft at 11:30 local time, Thomas Müller, Aleksandar Pavlović and Co unveiled a large banner to greet them. They then fulfilled the several autograph and selfie request from the supporters, who gave the German record champions a warm welcome on their arrival in the South Korean capital.

Elber & Pizarro visit pop-up store

There was a big crowd at the FC Bayern pop-up store in Seoul this afternoon. Two FCB legends made an appearance there at 15:30 local time: Giovanne Élber and Claudio Pizarro printed jerseys, signed autographs and took photos with the numerous fans. Mascot Berni also paid a visit to the store, which opened in mid-July. 

FCB welcomes journalists

After checking in, CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen, board member Michael Diederich and vice presidents Prof. Dr. Dieter Mayer and Walter Mennekes welcome the German media represents to the Audi Summer Tour. "Our club is rooted in Bavaria and at home in the world," said Dreesen. "Our mission on all these trips is to create a spirit of optimism towards internationalisation throughout German football," added Diederich.

FC Bayern and Tottenham guests of Coupang

The board, executive committee and legends of FC Bayern were then guests of Korean company Coupang in the afternoon. The OTT provider Coupang Play is the official and exclusive TV partner of the Bundesliga in South Korea as of the 2024/25 season. As part of the annual summer pre-season friendly series from Coupang Play, FCB play Tottenham Hotspur in Seoul on Saturday. Representatives from Spurs, including chairman Daniel Levy, were also at the event on Thursday.

FCB stars model away shirt

Cheeeese! On the first day of the Audi Summer Tour, João Palhinha, Jamal Musiala and Serge Gnabry explored the South Korean capital and stepped in front of the lens for a photo shoot. Together with influence Younes Zarou, the three Bayern players got dressed up and presented the German record champions' away short. In the heart of Seoul, the boys impressively modelled the new jersey.

Numerous media engagements in evening

After training, the players answered questions from media representatives from all over the world, including various South Korean media as well as the German journalists who have travelled over.
