Mathys Tel's South Korea diary: Matchday against Spurs

South Korea first-hand with Mathys Tel! The 19-year-old striker gives us a daily account of his experiences on the Audi Summer Tour 2024 on our website fcbayern.com and in the FC Bayern app. In his diary, Tel takes you behind the scenes in Seoul.

Hello folks,

I hope you're doing well? I was up at 8 am for this long day to get to breakfast in good time. After that we had a so-called 'muscle awakening' – we did some light cycling and stretched a bit. Then it was already time to eat again. I had spaghetti bolognese with avocado, it was very good!

After lunch was over, I had a good nap to be fit and rested for the game against Tottenham.

Greetings from the pitch! I took this photo for you before the match against Tottenham. What an atmosphere!

Today was the first day without any other appointments, so we players were able to concentrate fully on the game against Tottenham in the evening. And so we passed the time very relaxed until it was time to leave to go to the stadium.

I always then put my headphones on and listen to music to focus. On the short drive from the team hotel to the World Cup Stadium in Seoul, the team bus had to go over the 'World Cup Bridge'. From here you can not only see the roof construction of the stadium, but also have a great view of the Seoul skyline with all its skyscrapers.

Then we arrived at the stadium. I quickly go out onto the field to run a bit. It's soon time to warm up and prepare well for the game. The seats were filling up, over 60,000 people bought tickets for the match. The atmosphere was great – whenever Minjae appeared on the big screen, it got deafeningly loud. And aside from that, the FC Bayern fans gave us great support once again!

Ninety minutes later, there it was: a 2-1 win and good performance by the team, although there's certainly still room for improvement in some aspects. But we come back to Munich from the Audi Summer Tour in Korea on a good note, with a good feeling. We're flying home tomorrow evening, but I'll be in touch with you again in the diary before then.

Thanks to all of you for your support!

See you soon,

Mathys
