Interview with Adam Aznou
Servus Adam! On Monday night, you made your debut for the Moroccan national team and went straight into the starting line-up. How do you reflect on the game?
Adam Aznou: "It was a wonderful experience to walk out for the senior national team for the first time. My family were there too and cheered me on in the stadium. I'll always remember that day, it was like a dream."
How did you prepare for the match?
"The coach gave me one or two hints before the game that I might be in the starting line-up. He encouraged me and gave me a lot of advice, which helped me on my way a lot. My team-mates also supported me a lot, which allowed me to play freely. I was obviously very happy that I got to start."
You were voted 'Player of the Match' on your debut. A special honour?
"Yes, it was definitely an indescribable feeling. Even now, a few days later, I'm still over the moon and thankful to my team-mates for making it such an easy start for me. It was a dream debut for me but as a team we can also be pleased to have got the three points at the end of a close game. My shirt from the match will be given a special place at my parents' house."
Aznou signed a professional contract with FCB in May:
