FC Bayern and Unterhaching agree partnership

FC Bayern has agreed a strategic partnership with Unterhaching in the area of youth development. The long-term deal with the 3. Liga club covers a number of areas in youth development and scouting.

Max Eberl, FC Bayern board member for sport: “Unterhaching has been known for many years for its outstanding regional youth development work. We expect this long-term partnership with a club right on our doorstep to ensure smooth, uncomplicated integration in the development of our youth players. In the medium term, Unterhaching would like to establish itself as a down-to-earth, economically sound professional club. We want to accompany the club on this journey.”

Jochen Sauer, director of youth development and the Campus: “We’re delighted to be able to expand our existing FC Bayern Campus partner club network with Unterhaching. It will further improve the opportunities for regional talent development at both clubs. We have already had good experiences with Haching and are sure that we will achieve further new synergies through this partnership.”

Manfred Schwabl, Unterhaching president: “For Unterhaching, the partnership with FC Bayern is a milestone in our club's history, just in time for our 100th anniversary next year. We’re delighted that there will be a structured and strategically sensible exchange between our two clubs in the future. I am sure that both clubs - and especially the talented youngsters - will benefit from this.”

Markus Schwabl, Unterhaching sporting director: “In recent years, we have continuously proven that Unterhaching is an excellent place for young players to establish themselves in professional football. The agreements with FC Bayern will mean that we will not only jointly scout and promote talented young players but also gain new insights behind the scenes across departments.”

In addition to the direct observation, exchange and promotion of talented youngsters, the cooperation also includes Unterhaching coaches regularly shadowing their counterparts at the Bayern youth academy as well as workshops for employees of the third division club at the FC Bayern Campus. There will also be regular friendly matches and performance comparisons between the youth teams of both partners. In future, the clubs' scouting departments will coordinate with each other, and players from both clubs will be given the opportunity to transfer between the clubs as part of optimised, individual development.

In addition to Unterhaching, the regional partner club network of FC Bayern Campus already includes SpVgg Landshut, FT Gern, VfL Kaufering, SV Manching and SV Schloßberg-Stephanskirchen.
