Harry Kane scores in England opening win against Albania

Harry Kane and the English national team got their World Cup qualifying campaign off to a successful start. The FCB striker scored the second goal in the 77th minute of the 2-0 win over Albania at Wembley Stadium on Friday night, after Myles Lewis-Skelly had given the Three Lions the lead in the 20th minute.

Kane plucked a mid-height cross from Declan Rice out of the air and swept the ball into the far corner from around seven metres. It was also a significant goal for the 30-year-old striker: “So proud to have scored 70 goals for England!” he announced on Instagram after the game, adding: “A brilliant night at Wembley and a strong start to World Cup qualifying.”

England are back at Wembley on Monday (20:45 CET) for the visit of Latvia, hoping to establish their position at the top of the group with victory in the second match.
