Los Angeles FC booked the 32nd and final berth in the FIFA Club World Cup on Sunday morning. The MLS side beat Mexican champions CF America 2-1 after extra-time to qualify for the new competition that will be staged in the USA from 14 June to 13 July.

LAFC, who have been cooperating with FC Bayern in the development of young talent since 2023, face CR Flamengo (Brazil), Espérance Tunis (Tunisia) and Chelsea in the group stage. The MLS side and the German record champions might cross swords in the Round of 16 if they finish first or second in their groups.
