Having become Bayern’s all-time record appearance holder back in September, Thomas Müller has now become the first player to pass 750 games for the club – and he did it in his final outing at the Allianz Arena in Saturday’s meeting with Borussia Mönchengladbach. It’s yet another simply incredible number in a remarkable career. fcbayern.com looks back on just some of the stats behind the legend’s time at Bayern.
No German has won more

A two-time Champions League winner, 13 Bundesliga crowns, two Club World Cups and many more honours have taken Müller’s trophy haul for his boyhood club to 33. Add in the 2014 World Cup with Germany and Müller is the most decorated player in the history of German football alongside former teammate Toni Kroos. When it comes to Bundesliga titles, the 35-year-old is in a league of his own. Across Europe’s top leagues, only Ryan Giggs can match his 13 crowns.
Third for goals, top for assists
A Müller scoring goals has a long tradition at Bayern, and Thomas ranks third in the club’s all-time chart behind namesake Gerd (566) and Robert Lewandowski (344). But he also combined that with an unparalleled ability to pick out a teammate, boasting a remarkable 222 assists in all competitions for Bayern. That’s more than any other player across Europe’s top five leagues since Müller’s debut in 2008. He holds the single-season record in the Bundesliga with his 21 provisions in 2019/20’s historic campaign.

Champions League’s leading German
Müller has played 163 times in the Champions League – all for Bayern, of course, meaning he holds the record for most games in the competition for a single club. All told, only Cristiano Ronaldo (183) and Iker Casillas (177) have featured more times in Europe’s top club competition than Müller, who sits level with Lionel Messi in third place. Müller’s 111 games won is also second only to Ronaldo (115). A total of 57 goals makes the Bayern legend the top-scoring German in the competition’s history, sitting sixth all told.
Consistent at the highest level
Of his 502 Bundesliga games, Müller has won an incredible 361, which is the most of any player in the league’s history. This is currently his 17th season in Germany’s top division, which is a feat that only Manfred Kaltz (Hamburg), Charly Körbel (Eintracht Frankfurt) and Klaus Fichtel (Schalke) have otherwise achieved for one club (all 19). Apart from his maiden campaign, Müller has scored in every season he’s played in the Bundesliga. Holger Fach, Mats Hummels, Bernd Nickel, Olaf Thon and Michael Zorc are the only other players to have scored in 16 different seasons.
Müller also holds the Bundesliga record for being substituted off the most times. He made his way over to the touchline for the 190th time on Saturday against Gladbach for what was no doubt the most emotional substitution of his career, cheered off by the fans at the Allianz Arena for one final time.
