Leroy Sané will join the renowned Turkish club Galatasaray after his contract with FC Bayern expires on 30 June. Prior to leaving, the 29-year-old winger will be in action for FC Bayern at the Club World Cup until 30 June. Board member for sport Max Eberl made the announcement on Thursday in a press conference at FCB's base camp in Orlando.
Eberl said FC Bayern had always negotiated transparently and openly with Sané: "If the player then gets another offer and accepts it, that's absolutely normal. It's legitimate, and the fact that there’s no resentment is also shown by the joint decision that he’ll still be here for the group games and, possibly, the round of 16 at the Club World Cup."
Sané will join up with the squad on Friday and then prepare with them for the group matches against Auckland City (15 June), Boca Juniors (21 June) and Benfica (24 June).
