João Palhinha has completed a loan move from FC Bayern to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League. The Portuguese international’s loan deal runs until summer 2026 and includes a purchase option for the Europa League winners, who play the German record champions in a friendly at the Allianz Arena on 7 August.
Max Eberl, FC Bayern board member for sport: “João Palhinha unfortunately didn’t get the game time he hoped for at FC Bayern last season. We’ve found the best solution for all sides with Tottenham Hotspur. João can have a whole season at top European level there. We wish him all the best for the year ahead.”
Palhinha moved to Munich in summer 2024 from Premier League side Fulham. He made 25 appearances in all competitions last season and won the Bundesliga title with Bayern. He’s currently under contract until 30 June 2028. Palhinha will link up with former FCB team-mate Mathys Tel at Spurs.
