Fan club friendlies & watch parties across China

In the middle of the night, when cities in China were slowly winding down, the ball was rolling in the Bundesliga's big match – and Chinese Bayern fans were right in the thick of it! To mark the Bundesliga Klassiker against Borussia Dortmund, the official fan clubs organised friendly matches against the local BVB fan clubs in 11 Chinese cities. Whether seven-a-side or eight-a-side, the Klassiker was played out on the pitch with total commitment.

The matches took place in the following Chinese cities: Shanghai, Changsha, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Hefei, Kunming, Nanjing, Shenyang, Shenzhen, Wuhan, and Xi'an.

The solidarity of the Bayern family was revealed impressively: compared to the last Bundesliga Klassiker, which featured four such matches, the number of fan club friendlies almost tripled this time around. And support came not only from Munich – the Bundesliga branch in China provided help with banners, fan merchandise and other promotional material.

To put this into context: across China, it was already past midnight when the Bundesliga top-of-the-table clash kicked off. But after the final whistle, the night was far from over for Bayern fans: 20 fan clubs got together for watch parties and cheered on as FCB celebrated a 2-1 victory over BVB. It was a Klassiker that sparked red enthusiasm around the globe!
