FC Bayern supports Munich's bid to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games and is underlining this with a series of activities over the next few days ahead of the referendum on 26 October. During the Bundesliga match against Borussia Dortmund, the German record champions, together with politicians and top German athletes, will say loud and clear: “Olympi-Ja!” as part of the United for Munich campaign. Among others, club president Herbert Hainer, CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen, Bavarian Minister-President Markus Söder, Joachim Herrmann (Bavarian Minister of the Interior, Sport and Integration), Munich Mayor Dieter Reiter and Jörg Ammon (president of the Bavarian State Sports Association) will promote the bid by posing for a joint photo on the pitch at the Allianz Arena alongside Olympic athletes such as Gina Lückenkemper (sprint). Before kick-off, the Bayern team will also gather behind the banner.

Herbert Hainer, FC Bayern president: “The Olympic and Paralympic Games are a source of inspiration and a catalyst for sustainable progress beyond sport. They give our young people new role models and dreams, right on our doorstep. This would be the second Olympic Games in Munich and the first Paralympic Games, which not only means exceptional sporting achievements, but also sends an important signal for greater visibility on the issue of inclusion and a vote for accessibility in sports facilities and residential areas. That is why we at FC Bayern support the bid and say, together with Munich, Olympi-Ja!”
In addition to representatives from the club and the world of politics, adidas has invited Olympic athletes Vinzenz Geiger (Nordic combined), Simon Schempp (biathlon), Tobias Angerer (cross-country skiing), and Dominik Klein and Steffen Weinhold (both handball) to attend the match at the Allianz Arena. As in previous weeks, there will be a promotional stand for the campaign on the esplanade in front of the stadium, advertising banners and monitors will pick up on the Olympic theme, and a video clip featuring football and basketball players talking about the fascination of the Olympics will be shown before the match.

Further Olympic activations will take place both at the women's match against Köln at the FC Bayern Campus on Sunday and at the basketball team's BBL Cup round of 16 match against Braunschweig at BMW Park on Monday. In addition to president Hainer, Olympic athletes such as Lukas Dauser (gymnastics) will once again be involved in the basketball game, and the escort kids and MCA Dancers will wear OlympiJA T-shirts.
For weeks now, clips of Manuel Neuer, Lena Oberdorf, basketball world and European champion Andi Obst, president Hainer and honorary president Uli Hoeneß (video) have been circulating, in which they explain why they are Olympics fans. In addition, the club is participating in a wide variety of events promoting Munich's Olympic bid with various figures from the club and has motivated over 15,000 members in Munich to vote yes in a mailing.
