
Luis Díaz contributed a goal in the Colombian national team's convincing 4-0 friendly win over World Cup co-hosts Mexico in the early hours of Sunday. Jhon Lucumí gave Colombia the lead in the 16th minute in Arlington, Texas, before the Bayern forward escaped his opponent and made it 2-0 with a delicate lob 10 minutes into the second half. Jefferson Lerma (64’) and Johan Carbonero (86’) completed the scoring for the Cafeteros.
Díaz and his compatriots have already qualified for next year’s World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico. They’ll continue their preparations with another friendly in America against Canada in New Jersey on Wednesday (2:00 CEST).
Klanac clean sheet for Germany U19s
Youth goalkeeper Leon Klanac played 90 minutes and kept a clean sheet in the German U19 team’s 5-0 win against Kosovo in European Championship qualifying. Alessandro Gaul Souza (9‘, 52’), Luca Erlein (27’) and Francis Onyeka (50’, 88’) scored the goals for the German youngsters, who sealed their progress to the second round of qualifying in spring 2026 with the second win in the second game.
