Vincent Kompany: “We felt we were too relaxed, we missed a lot of chances. It was a really dominant display until the third goal. It was a typical ‘forward in the box foul’ in Harry’s case [when Frankfurt were awarded a penalty, ed.]. We gifted them the second goal. Frankfurt pushed towards the end. That’s football, we have the three points and that’s good. We have a normal week, which is a luxury for us, so I want us to go full throttle from the first to the last minute. We took ourselves out of the game to some extent. Frankfurt did a really good job towards the end, but we were very dominant for large spells and did a lot of things right. We must learn from it and are in a perfect position for the next game. It might be the most difficult one, we’re fired up for it, we want to go there. It’s perfect for us. They think they can take something against us. We believe the same. It’s a top match. 

It doesn’t look too bad for Alphonso Davies. I don’t know if it’ll be two or four weeks, but I feel it won’t take so long.”

Jamal Musiala: “I feel good, I’m satisfied with the game today. I still need some games to settle back into it. We must always be at 100 percent in terms of energy and focus, no matter what game or when. We must learn from this, it happens, but luckily we have the three points. Now we have a week to prepare for the match against Dortmund.”

Harry Kane: “It was a good display for large speels, we deserved the three points. The two mistakes towards the end made it a bit exciting again, that was unnecessary. The three points are the main thing. We can be satisfied and focus on the game next week.”

Albert Riera (head coach): “I’m responsible for the plan and the positioning, but at the end of the day, the players are the most important factor. At half-time, I told the lads we were two down because of two set pieces and that we don’t have to hide. We only made minor adjustments at half-time and did a much better job in the second half.”
