The start of pre-season is almost upon us! 58 days after victory in the DFB-Cup final against VfB Stuttgart, which secured the double for FC Bayern last season, head coach Vincent Kompany will welcome his players back to Säbener Straße for their first training session on Monday 20 July. On the day after the World Cup final, the Munich men will begin with the mandatory performance diagnostic tests; over the course of the week, the record champions will also return to the training pitch. The internationals who saw action at the World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico over the past few weeks will then gradually rejoin the squad as pre-season progresses.
Friendly in Wiesbaden on 25 July
The first friendly will take place on Saturday 25 July at SV Wehen-Wiesbaden. The match will be broadcast exclusively on the club’s own video channel, FC Bayern TV PLUS (subscribe here).
Training camp and friendly at the Tegernsee
From 27 to 30 July, the Munich side will undertake a training camp at the Tegernsee, during which they'll hold open training sessions and play a friendly against local side FC Rottach-Egern on 30 July.
Tenth Audi Summer Tour
Bayern will then embark on their tenth Audi Summer Tour from 1 to 8 August. This summer, the record champions will visit the South Korean island of Jeju and Hong Kong. Two Audi Football Summits have been arranged as part of the tour: in South Korea, Kompany’s side will play Jeju SK FC on 4 August, and on 7 August they'll face Europa Cup winners Aston Villa at the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong (Tickets).
Telekom Cup and Franz Beckenbauer Supercup
Following their return, the Telekom Cup against RB Leipzig at the Allianz Arena has been scheduled for 15 August. Tickets for the match against Leipzig are available HERE.
The Munich men's first competitive fixture of the new season will take place on Saturday 22 August. In the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup, Bayern will face last season’s league runners-up Borussia Dortmund, with the first trophy of the new season at stake. The Bundesliga campaign will then get underway the following weekend; on 28 August, FC Bayern will host VfB Stuttgart (20.30 CEST) in the season opener at the Allianz Arena.
