Bayern’s first session of 2026/27 pre-season on the pitch
Tom Bischof, Arijon Ibrahimović and their teammates had been put through their paces of the obligatory performance tests before they finally got to step foot on the place they miss the most after a long summer break. It was still a small squad as Bayern took to the pitch for the first time this pre-season on Tuesday, after completing more medical and performance diagnostics in the morning following Monday’s initial tests.
There were plenty of youth players from the reserves and U19s to bulk out the numbers during the session, with many of them likely to feature in pre-season’s first friendly matches against Wehen Wiesbaden (25 July) and Rottach-Egern (30 July). The majority of the first-team squad is either still on holiday after their World Cup endeavours or recovering from injuries and will be integrated over the course of pre-season.

As well as some passing moves and coordination drills, the players also got to enjoy a match during the session as they look to build fitness for the first game in Wiesbaden.
