Technical upgrade: Changes to ticketing for visits to Allianz Arena
FC Bayern is modernising its ticketing system for the 2026/27 season. All the information on this topic was also the focus of the traditional summer meeting of the Fan Dialogue Working Group (AKFD) at Paulaner am Nockherberg. Representatives from the ticketing department provided participants with a detailed overview of the background, goals, new features and future possibilities. “With the introduction of digital ticketing, visiting the Allianz Arena will become safer, more transparent and more sustainable,” said Jan-Christian Dreesen, explaining the technical developments. The CEO had once again set aside plenty of time for the meeting. “With this transition, FC Bayern – as a pioneer in club football – will also take a major step towards preventing ticket fraud and actively combating the black market.”
Regarding the ticket transition, Dreesen emphasized: “The Allianz Arena will remain accessible to all Bayern fans in the future. We’re involving our members and fan clubs in the introduction of digital tickets and providing support wherever necessary. Technical solutions were specifically developed for our fan clubs to facilitate the digital transfer of tickets to the numerous fan club members who travel to our home games on fan buses.” Oliver Meßthaler, director of ticketing, security and facility management at FC Bayern, added: “With digital ticketing, we’re making visits to the Allianz Arena even easier and more convenient, while also ensuring that the black market is significantly curtailed and ticket forgery is practically impossible. In this way, we’re protecting our fans and creating an even better and safer experience around our games.”

In the future, tickets for FC Bayern will be available exclusively in digital form via the FC Bayern app or the Allianz Arena app. During the meeting, data and charts were presented on smartphone usage, the age distribution of ticket buyers as well as app usage at the Allianz Arena during other events. In a live presentation, AKFD participants were shown the most important features: the ticket wallet, ticket transfer, the distribution process for fan clubs, guest registration and the secondary market. A similar model had already proven successful at EURO 2024.
In the open discussion that followed between Dreesen, FC Bayern staff led by Markus Meindl (director of fan relations), and AKFD representatives, questions, experiences and feedback were discussed in depth. The focus was particularly on the app’s accessibility, solutions for fans without smartphones, the handling of larger fan club contingents, and support and service offerings during the introductory phase of digital ticketing. The next AKFD meeting is due to take place ahead of the home match against RB Leipzig on Bundesliga Matchday 6.
