Jan-Christian Dreesen and Max Eberl: Contract extensions until 2029

In light of the developments of recent years, FC Bayern is placing its trust in continuity and stability at management level: the supervisory board has agreed contract extensions with both CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen and board member for sport Max Eberl until 30 June 2029. A corresponding resolution was adopted today during a regular meeting.

Chairman of the supervisory board Herbert Hainer: “Continuity provides direction; stability brings strength: we need both to ensure FC Bayern continues to develop consistently at the very highest level. Especially in the dynamic competitive environment in which a top international club must forge its own path, consistency stands for a clear conviction. With Jan-Christian Dreesen, Max Eberl and Rouven Kasper, our board is ideally positioned to drive FC Bayern forward both in sporting and commercial terms and to maintain its leading position in Europe.”

Jan-Christian Dreesen: “First of all, I would like to thank the supervisory board for their trust. I am delighted to be continuing my work at FC Bayern with energy and passion. As the executive board, together with our staff, members and fans, we intend to do everything in our power to ensure FC Bayern remains the top club of which we are all so proud. That is what drives us – and we still have a lot more to achieve.”

Max Eberl: “FC Bayern has been close to my heart ever since my time in the youth setup. Jan-Christian Dreesen joined FC Bayern München AG as chief financial officer in 2013 following a successful career in banking. Just a year later, Dreesen – who was born on 4 September 1967 in Aurich, East Frisia, and holds a degree in business administration – was promoted to deputy chairman of the executive board. Since May 2023, Dreesen has been chairman of the German record champions' executive board.

Max Eberl (52), who was born in Bogen, Lower Bavaria, joined FC Bayern at the age of six, progressed through all the youth teams and made his professional debut in the colours of Germany’s record champions. Following his playing career, which included spells at Bochum, Fürth and Mönchengladbach, he began his career in management at Mönchengladbach in 2005, continued his work as managing director for sport at RB Leipzig and was appointed board member for sport at FC Bayern with effect from 1 March 2024.

Following a resolution by the supervisory board in the spring of 2024, the executive board of FC Bayern München AG has, since 1 July 2024, consisted of three members: a chairman of the executive board, a board member for sport and a board member for marketing & sales. This organisational structure is designed to facilitate lean and efficient processes, enabling swift coordination and dynamic decision-making.

On Sunday, Vincent Kompany, Harry Kane and Giulia Gwinn received awards:
