Whilst the majority of the Bayern squad undertook a recovery session on Thursday following last night's cup win at Osnabrück (4–1), Serge Gnabry got out onto the pitch this morning. Alongside youth player Tim Binder, who is currently recovering from a torn muscle fibre in his right hamstring, the 31-year-old attacking midfielder continued to work on his comeback. Gnabry has his sights firmly set on returning following his adductor injury, which has kept him sidelined since the spring, as Vincent Kompany explained during Tuesday’s press conference: “I reckon he’ll get his first few minutes within the next ten days. Then he’ll be right back in the thick of things.”

FC Bayern get straight back to Bundesliga action this Saturday (18:30 CEST) in the matchday's standout fixture at newly promoted FC Schalke 04. The following week, the Munich side will contest their Champions League opener against Bodø/Glimt (10 September, 21:00 CEST), followed by a visit to Bundesliga newcomers SV Elversberg (13 September, 17:30 CEST).
