FC Bayern & Allianz: Joint event as part of Munich Climate Week
How can sport and business work together to highlight climate risks and propose concrete measures? FC Bayern and its partner Allianz are addressing this question as part of Munich Climate Week, which is being held under the motto ‘From Munich, for Munich, about Munich’ and is sponsored by Allianz.
FC Bayern board member for marketing and sales Rouven Kasper: “Our Allianz Arena stands for emotion, success and shared goals – which makes it the perfect venue to demonstrate how we can take joint responsibility for the next generation. With our partner Allianz, we want to raise awareness that climate protection affects us all. As part of the first Munich Climate Week, these special initiatives will highlight what is already possible today, and we want to inspire people to get involved in this important issue too.”
Allianz SE board member Günther Thallinger: “The Allianz Arena brings people together. With FC Bayern, we want to show how climate protection can become a tangible part of our everyday lives and how we can ensure Munich remains a great place to live for future generations.”
On Thursday 22 October, the event is aimed at visitors and professionals attending Munich Climate Week. On 23 October, school classes from Munich’s Bavarian Climate Schools will take part. On 24 October, the guided tour will be open to families from Munich.
The tour, which lasts around 40 minutes, combines a fascination with FC Bayern and the Allianz Arena with practical insights into energy efficiency, renewable energy and e-mobility. Among other things, the tour showcases the arena’s LED lighting, the use of heat pumps for heating the pitch and the arena itself, and the solar panels on the visitors’ car park and at the ticket control entrance. It also covers measures to protect biodiversity, waste separation within the stadium and fan mobility.
Afterwards, participants will be invited into the Allianz executive box where, using specific examples, they will learn more about climate risks and adaptation, as well as Allianz’s climate protection measures. In a fun and interactive way, they can set their own goals for the future and win tickets to FC Bayern football and basketball matches.
