Harry Kane was recognised as the top-scoring striker at the Ballon d’Or ceremony in London on 26 October. The impressive numbers of his record-breaking 2025/25 season reveal what’s behind this success. fcbayern.com has compiled the stats from his extraordinary year:
Harry Kane’s record-breaking campaign in numbers
Kane set new standards in the 2025/26 season. In 51 competitive games for FC Bayern, the England captain netted 61 goals – the best figure in Europe’s top five leagues by a considerable distance. Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé was second with 42 goals.
Personal club record
For Kane, the 61 goals represented a new personal best at club level. Since FC Bayern’s promotion to the Bundesliga, only one player has netted more competitive goals at club level within one season: Gerd Müller scored 66 in 1972/73.
In the 21st century, only two players have scored 61 or more goals in Europe’s top five divisions. As well as Kane, Cristiano Ronaldo hit 61 goals in the 2014/15 campaign, while Lionel Messi holds the record with a total of 73 goals in the 2011/12 season.

36 Bundesliga goals twice
Kane surpassed his tally of 36 Bundesliga goals from the 2023/24 season, becoming only the second player after Gerd Müller to hit the 36-goal mark on more than one occasion. Müller in fact achieved this three times.
Unique hat-trick in cup final
In Bayern’s 3-0 win over VfB Stuttgart in the DFB Cup final, Kane made more history. With all three goals, he became just the fourth player to score three goals in a German cup final, after Uwe Seeler in 1963 for Hamburger SV, Roland Wohlfarth in 1986 for Bayern and Robert Lewandowski in 2012 for Borussia Dortmund. However, Kane’s the only one to have scored a so-called “lupenrein hattrick” – that is, three goals scored consecutively in one half.
10 cup goals

With a total of 10 strikes in the DFB Cup in 2025/26, Kane also bagged the most goals by one player in the competition for 49 years. Since the Bundesliga was formed in 1963, only two players have managed over 10 goals in one cup campaign: Dieter Müller with 14 in 1976/77 and his namesake Gerd with 11 in the same season.
14 Champions League goals
Kane found the net 14 times in the Champions League last season – second only to Mbappé with 15. In Bayern history, only Lewandowski has scored more goals in a Champions League campaign, registering 15 in the 2019/20 season.
Particularly impressive was Kane’s streak in the knockout phase: the 33-year-old was on target in six consecutive matches in the knockout stages of the competition. With that he equalled the record set by Cristiano Ronaldo in 2012 and 2013.
One of the highest-scoring seasons ever
With 61 goals in all competitions for his club, including 36 in the Bundesliga, a historic hat-trick in the cup final and 14 goals in the Champions League, Harry Kane crowned his 2025/26 season with numerous records. The Englishman achieved one of the highest-scoring campaigns ever for a Bayern player – and firmly established himself at the top of European football.
