There’s good news at Bayern as Jamal Musiala is back in team training following his hamstring injury, but Saturday’s game away at Mainz comes too soon for the attacker.
Training with team
The 23-year-old has taken the next step towards a full return to action, having not played since sustaining a hamstring injury with Germany at the end of September. Thursday’s session with the team is a welcome sight for his teammates and the fans.
“Jamal has re-joined the group, which is very positive,” said assistant coach Aaron Danks at Friday’s press conference before facing Mainz. However, he confirmed that Musiala isn’t yet in contention to feature, explaining that the upcoming international break will give the attacker time for some more individual sessions to build up his physical fitness.
Díaz also at work
Facing the media again in place of Vincent Kompany, Danks didn’t want to give a precise timeframe on any returns, however. “I think it’s difficult to set a date or a match, but next week they – Jamal and Luis Díaz – will do individual sessions. And when the players are back from their national team, they’ll be in full team training. But there’s no deadline.”
