Purposeful and energetic Bayern made a good start to restoring the shine taken off by last week's two heavy defeats, as the champions emphatically renewed their Bundesliga title challenge with a 4-0 victory over a largely outclassed Eintracht Frankfurt.
The 69,000 capacity crowd at the Allianz Arena saw Franck Ribery hand the home side a dream start after just three minutes, Luca Toni doubling the advantage with little over quarter of an hour played. Lucio made it three before half-time, Bastian Schweinsteiger tapping in a fourth three minutes after the restart to set the Bavarians on their way to a morale-boosting and thoroughly merited win.
The result, combined with Wolfsburg's 2-1 win in Monchengladbach and defeat for Hertha Berlin in Hanover, means Bayern go second in the standings on 51 points from 27 matches, three off leaders Wolves and level with third-placed Hamburg, who travel to fifth-placed Stuttgart on Sunday.
