It was already the eighth minute of injury time when Georgia Stanway intercepted the ball, dribbled towards the penalty area and let fly from 17 metres! It was followed by wild celebrations from the FC Bayern women. With her last-minute goal in the Champions League match at Benfica, the 23-year-old attacking midfielder sealed a late 3-2 win for the Munich side in Europe's premier club competition. It was a superb and at the same time incredibly important goal from the England player, and that was also the opinion of the FC Bayern fans, who chose Stanway's strike as their Goal of the Month for October.
Narrow win for Stanway
28.8 per cent of the vote secured Stanway first place in the fan vote. Zvjezdan Misimović's goal in the Legends derby came second. Third place went to Leroy Sané, who scored the third goal in the 5-0 win at home to SC Freiburg.
