FC Bayern Women have signed up Alara Şehitler for next season. The 16-year-old midfielder will move from FV Ravensburg on a two-year contract. “My move to Munich is a childhood dream come true,” she said. “It means a lot to me to play here, especially when you see the players FC Bayern have. It’s a great honour that I’ll get to represent the club in the future.”
U17 European champion
Şehitler heads to the FC Bayern Campus as an U17 European champion and has already impressed in training with FC Bayern Women. “The way she trains and plays impressed us a lot,” explained head coach Alexander Straus. “Young talents at FC Bayern get the opportunity to work together with experienced and established players. They can learn a lot from that.”
As of this summer, the Ravensburg native will be aiming to establish herself in the first team in Munich. “First of all I want to settle in well and then achieve as much as possible both personally and with the team. I’ve already had experience at youth level which I want to bring in and build on,” she added.
Much potential
“She has everything you need to become a great player,” continued Straus. “We’ll support and help her to develop in the best possible way in this environment. It’s a mark of confidence for us as a club when we can acquire both established players and young talents. We’ll work together with her on the next steps and very much look forward to welcoming her in Munich.”
