Francisco De Sá Fardilha named technical director of women’s football

A new face for FC Bayern Women: Francisco De Sá Fardilha has been appointed technical director of women’s football. The French-born Portuguese national was, among other things, technical director of women's football for Girondins Bordeaux and assistant academy manager at LOSC Lille. The 36-year-old speaks Portuguese, English, Spanish, Italian and some German, and will take up his new position at FC Bayern on 1 March 2023.

Francisco De Sá Fardilha, women's football technical director: "I was honoured with the invitation to join such a prestigious institution. I feel perfectly aligned with the club's vision and values and look forward to working closely with all players and staff, from both the professional and youth teams. Packmas!"

Bianca Rech, women's football sporting director: "We're very happy about the appointment of a technical director of women's football. Francisco will support us powerfully in the area of scouting and recruitment and build another bridge between talent development and the women's first team. Filling the position is another step, and an important one, in the development of women's football at FC Bayern."
