Stand by for a true cup thriller! FC Bayern Women will host their long-time rivals VfL Wolfsburg in the semi-finals of this season's DFB Women's Cup. The pairing was drawn early on Sunday evening by DFB president Bernd Neuendorf and long-time Bundesliga coach Mirko Slomka. The semi-finals are scheduled for 15 to 17 April. The exact dates will be announced in the next few days.
Head coach Alexander Straus' team thus face the strongest of all three possible opponents in the semi-finals. Current cup holders the Wölfinnen booked their place in the last four with a clear-cut 4-0 victory over FC Köln. In the Bundesliga, Bayern and Wolfsburg are neck-and-neck in the race for the German championship this season.
