Weronika Zawistowska joined FC Bayern Women in 2021 from Polish giants KKS Szarni Sosnowiec, signing a three-year deal. The Poland international was then loaned out to 1. FC Köln for two seasons, but she will now return to Munich this summer as part of Bayern’s first-team squad.
“Big chance”
Zawistowska has so far made 39 appearances in the Bundesliga and DFB Cup in her almost two years in Cologne. The striker is now looking forward to her time in Munich. “It’s a big chance for me, and I believed in it from the start when I signed for Bayern. I’ve worked hard for a year and a half to get closer to this opportunity. There’s big emotions and feelings attached to this, and I can hardly wait to make my debut for Bayern,” Zawistowska said.
“Quality and impressive performances”
The Warsaw native has now achieved her mid-term goal of becoming part of Bayern’s senior squad. Sporting director Bianca Rech: “We’d like to thank Köln, who welcomed Weronika well and have played a part in her positive development. Weronika has already showed her quality and impressive performances in the Bundesliga in the last year and a half. We’re looking forward to taking the next step together.”
Francisco De Sá Fardilha has been FC Bayern Women’s technical director as of March:
