FC Bayern has extended the partnership between its women's department and Audi by two years until 2025. Among other things, the squad will be kitted out with company cars, while the two parties are also looking to promote the development of German women's football in the future.
Jan-Christian Dreesen, FC Bayern CEO: "Our players celebrated the club's fifth German championship on the final day of last season, and FC Bayern is very proud of the continual development of the whole department. We're pleased to continue our partnership with Audi in this area. Women's football at our club has a long tradition of over 50 years – and I'm not worried about its future either. Our players are not just outstanding professionals who excite the fans on the pitch, but also wonderful ambassadors for FC Bayern – role models who inspire people far beyond the field."
Andreas Jung, FC Bayern board member for marketing: "We want to keep pushing forward in women's football, and partners such as Audi are important vehicles for that. FC Bayern and Audi stand for forward-looking efforts – and women's football is growing rapidly. We have big ambitions with this team, are growing continuously and, after the fifth German championship this summer, can envisage the next successes thanks to reliable partners like Audi."
Hildegard Wortmann, Audi AG board member for sales and marketing: "The FC Bayern players are outstanding sportswomen and strong role models, whose advancement is an issue close to my heart. It's special for me to make female talents visible – at Audi and beyond. With their passionate and successful style of play, the FC Bayern players are an inspiration and therefore represent the Audi brand in the best possible way."
To further increase the visibility of women's football, the club recently initiated the "Werde #12teFrau" campaign together with Audi, which takes a creative approach to promoting fan culture and aims to inspire girls to take part in women’s football. In general the brand with the four rings has been supporting the German record champions since 2002. In 2020, the partnership was extended ahead of schedule until 2029. Audi has also been a shareholder in FC Bayern München AG since 2011. Since last season, the FC Bayern Women players and coaching staff have been driving the Audi A1, Audi A3 and Audi TT models.
