Two FC Bayern Women players suffered knee injuries in training this week, with the diagnoses now confirmed. Icelandic goalkeeper Cecilía Rán Rúnarsdóttir has suffered a dislocated patella. Polish striker Weronika Zawistowska has torn her cruciate ligament. Both players will be out of action for several months.
Bianca Rech, head of FC Bayern Women, expressed the club's support for the players: "Both injuries are a heavy blow, especially for Cecilía and Weronika, of course. We wish them both a lot of strength and will support them in all ways possible."
