Magdalena Eriksson and Sweden face a tough opening fixture as they take on world champions Spain on 22 September before a trip to Italy four days later. Jovana Damnjanovic and Serbia first take on Ukraine and then Greece on the same days. Tainara is in the Brazil squad, but they don’t have any fixtures during this international break and will instead be meeting up for internal practice. Ines Belloumou has been called up for France’s U23s and will face Spain in a friendly in Madrid on 25 September.
Five youth call-ups
A number of young Bayern players will also be away with their countries. Fritz Walter Medal winner Alara Sehitler and Germany’s U19s have friendlies against Denmark (23 September) and England (26 September). Greta Hünten, Lisa Karl and Celina Senftl are with the U17s for two friendlies against England (22 and 25 September). Claudia Petruzziello is with Italy’s U17s to take on Denmark (20 September), Portugal (23 September) and Wales (26 September).
