Klara Bühl named Germany Women’s Player of the Year

Klara Bühl has been named Germany Women’s Player of the Year 2023 by a considerable margin by fans. In another vote by supporters, the team’s Goal of the Year also went to the 23-year-old Bayern player for her opening strike against Iceland in the Nations League.

A clear winner

Bühl registered five goals and four assists for Germany in the past year. She struck four times in the Nations League, which ranks her top nationally for competitive goals. In a vote from the German FA (DFB), she was named Women’s Player of the Year for 2023 by a considerable margin with 36.8 percent of votes. Next with 21.8 percent was captain Alexandra Popp, followed by Merle Frohms (10 percent). The Bayern forward also took home the award for best goal, with 37.9 percent of votes coming for her strike to make it 1-0 against Iceland on 26 September. Her second goal to make it 4-0 was also up for nomination and came third.
